First aid is an essential part of the workforce. A “first aid attendant” is a person who holds a valid first aid certificate that is approved by the board and then is designated as a first aid attendant by the employer.
In B.C. there are three types of first aid attendants: Level 1, Level 2 Level 3.
There is also a Transportation Endorsement that is available to both Level 1 and 2 attendants. A first aid attendant must be at least 16 years of age, has successfully completed the first aid training and examination that was developed or approved by the board, have a first aid certification in good standing and meet the requirements determined by the board.
